Biography
Dondi Erickson has over 25 years of experience in the Cosmetology industry. She worked in 2 different salons before going on her own as a booth renter for 20 years. In 2009 she got her certificate as a Cosmetology Instructor. Then in 2012, she was hired at Northwood Tech as a Continuing Education and a substitute Instructor in the Cosmetology Dept. From 2015-2020 she worked at Nicolet College as a Cosmetology Instructor, then came back in 2019 to Northwood Tech as an adjunct instructor for Cosmetology. In 2017 at 46 years old she went back to college to obtain her B.S. in Career and Technical Education, graduating from UW Stout in 2021. As an adult student, she understands the challenges non-traditional students face day to day in the classroom giving her empathy for her students and their struggles.
Dondi’s experience allows her to relate classroom material to real-world experience. She has the knowledge to explain to her students what to expect once they begin their careers in Cosmetology. Dondi also attended Northwood Tech, so she knows firsthand about this program and what is expected of students, which provides valuable insight for students.
