Biography
Kristen Vicker has an extensive background in Criminal Justice serving as a Police Officer working for various agencies from rural, urban, university, and tribal communities. Some of the job positions she has held are Police Officer, D.A.R.E. Officer (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), Acting Detective, Crime Prevention Specialist, and Tribal Police Officer. Kristen is a certified DOJ (Department of Justice Instructor) and teaches topics in Constitutional Law, Professional Communications, General Law Enforcement topics, and Master Instructor for Criminal Justice Instructor Development.
Prior to moving to a Criminal Justice Studies Instructor and Program Director, she was the Criminal Justice Training Specialist coordinating all the training and conferences for current law enforcement and jail officers. Kristen has experience teaching all types of students from the criminal justice program, law and jail recruits, and current police and jail officers. Her teaching philosophy is utilizing her diverse experiences to relate with her students and make learning fun and exciting. Kristen’s courses are organized and structured making it easy for students to know the expectations of the class. In the classroom, Kristen utilizes several teaching methods to keep students actively engaged.
In her spare time, Kristen enjoys the outdoors. She enjoys driving her UTV, walking the dog, working in the yard, and spending time with her family.
