High Demand Programs

Northwood Tech uses these steps to decide who gets into high-demand programs:

  1. Application Date
Your application will be sorted based on the date of submission. The earlier you finish, the higher you’ll be on the list.

  2. Admission/Program Requirements
Some programs may have additional admission or program specific requirements that must be completed before you begin. For details on requirements click here and select your program from the program list.

  3. Residency Priority
In-district residents receive priority over non-district Wisconsin or Minnesota residents if the application is submitted by:

    • October 1 for programs starting in the summer term.
    • January 1 for programs starting in the fall term.
    • May 1 for programs starting in the spring term.

  4. Out-of-state students can be accepted into programs if there’s room, after district and other in-state students have been accepted. View the district map on the Wisconsin Technical College System website.

  5. Waitlists
When a program fills up, we start a waitlist. We use the same rules—application date first and residency—to decide waitlist order.

  6. Your Address Counts
We use the address on your first application to determine where you live. If you move later, your spot in line does not change.

  7. Proof of Residency
We may ask you to show documents (like a utility bill or ID) to confirm your address.

Contact an Admissions Advisor if you have questions related to the waitlist process.
