Pregnant and Parenting Students & Employees

Northwood Tech is dedicated to serving and supporting all students and employees, including those who are expecting or have families. Northwood Tech is proud to be recognized as a Family-Friendly Workplace.

Pregnant & Parenting Students

Title IX ensures that students can take time off school for pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, abortion, and recovery if their doctor deems it medically necessary. Students with pregnancy-related conditions may request accommodations from the Accommodation Support Services Office or the Title IX Office.

Pregnant & Parenting Employees

Federal law protects workers from discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, and may require employers to provide reasonable workplace accommodations. Understanding these protections helps ensure a fair and supportive environment for all. Employees with pregnancy-related conditions may request accommodations from Talent & Culture.

In addition to pumping or breast feeding, the Privacy Rooms can be used for minor medical administration (e.g. insulin shots), stretching, prayer/meditation, or a quiet space for those who need to rest and recharge.
