Biography
Celia Tarnowski came to Northwood Tech with more than 20 years of experience working in television. During that time, she held the position of reporter, photographer, writer, producer and director. In addition, she has more than 30 years of experience as a freelance reporter, writer, columnist and photographer for various print and digital publications. Celia’s background provides her with valuable tools she incorporates in the classroom and an understanding of working with a diverse group of people in a variety of settings. That insight assists Celia in connecting with students who come to Northwood Tech from diverse backgrounds and age groups. She knows that every student has a unique and interesting personal story.
Celia believes it is important to create a classroom environment that fosters respect and an appreciation for diversity. This provides a space for students to share personal opinions, life experiences and thoughtful reflections that enhance the learning experience. For Celia, it is a joyful experience to see students grow in confidence as they explore new concepts, self-reflect and engage in active learning.
In her spare time, Celia enjoys participating in outdoor activities with her family, exercising, cooking/baking, tackling DIY home and art projects and attending performances of local artists.
