Biography

I started my career as a journalist in West Michigan, writing news, features, and opinion articles. Shortly after, I began teaching journalism and English composition classes as an adjunct instructor. After earning my master’s degree in English, I accepted a full-time teaching position at a community college in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I also started working on projects related to curriculum, assessment, and accreditation. This experience led to my role as an administrator at the Michigan college for a few years before I took my current position at Northwood Technical College in 2019. In addition to my work with curriculum and assessment, I also focus on instructional design, credit for prior learning, and digital badging and serve as the advisor for the college’s Individualized Technical Studies program.
