Do you have questions about completing the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid)? The FAFSA needs to be completed to apply for financial aid, including grants and loans. Attend a College Goal Wisconsin event and get help from professionals to complete the FAFSA.

What to bring:

You will need the following items to refer to in order to file your 2026-27 FAFSA.
If you are a dependent student for financial aid purposes, you will also need these same items for your parent(s). For dependent students, parent(s) are encouraged to attend as well. 

  • 2024 Federal Tax Return and W2s

  • 2024 Untaxed income records such as child support or veteran non education benefits

  • Information on savings, retirements, business assets

  • Driver's License (if you have one)

  • Cell Phone (if you have one)

  • Alien Registration Number

  • Social Security Number

  • Date of birth of parents, if needed

  • Month & year of marriage, divorce or separation

  • FSA ID. Please create one in studentaid.gov
