    • Title: Mental Health First Aid: Essential Skills for Certified Medical Assistants
    • Presenter: Randi Goettl, APSW, UW-Eau Claire Social Work Assistant Professor
    • Objectives:
      • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health crises, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, and substance use emergencies
      • Learn and apply the ALGEE action plan when encountering patients in mental distress
      • Demonstrate effective communication techniques for de-escalating situations and providing non-judgmental support to patients experiencing mental health
  • Session Two
    • Title: From Recognition to Referral: Mental Health Resources for Clinical Practice
    • Presenter: Randi Goettl, APSW, UW-Eau Claire Social Work Assistant Professor
    • Objectives:
      • Identify and access appropriate mental health resources (local, national, and crisis-specific) for various patient populations and clinical situations
      • Differentiate between emergency, urgent, and routine mental health situations to determine appropriate resource recommendations and referrals
      • Explain the medical assistant's scope of practice and professional boundaries when providing mental health support and making referrals
  • Session Three
    • Title: Stubborn Depression, Think TMS

    • Objectives:
      • Knowledge of treatment options for depression
      • Understand the clinical data supporting TMS Therapy as a treatment for depression
      • How to identify candidates for TMS Therapy

    • Title: Total Enlightenment: Why Learning to Say No in a Yes World Can Save Your Sanity and Your Life
    • Presenter: Corey W. Jahnke, RPh, Pharmacist, Walmart Stores
    • Objectives:
      • Identify strategies to reclaim your time and energy
      • Explain why self care is not selfish
      • Explore ways to incorporate how to have fun as a healthcare worker
