Sexual Misconduct Resources & Pregnant and Parenting Student Support
If you’ve experienced sexual misconduct, harassment, or violence, you are not alone — we offer confidential support, reporting options, and personalized assistance to help you navigate next steps. We also provide dedicated support for pregnant and parenting students, including academic flexibility, referrals, and access to campus privacy rooms for lactation, rest, or personal care. Our goal is to ensure every student has the resources they need to thrive — in the classroom and beyond.
Available resources include:
- Quiet, private rooms on campus for health and personal use
 - Support for pregnant and parenting students
 - Confidential reporting options and advocacy for sexual misconduct
 - Referrals to academic, mental health, and community resources

Safe Zone Trainings
Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected. Northwood Tech offers Safe Zone trainings for students, faculty, and staff to:
- Learn inclusive language
 - Understand LGBTQ+ identities and issues
 - Create welcoming spaces on campus
 
Over 100 members of our community have completed this training — and we're still growing. Students can also get involved with Alliance for Pride, our LGBTQ+ student organization that builds connection through events, awareness campaigns, and peer support throughout the year.

Legal and Chosen Names
Northwood Tech recognizes and values each person at the college. Individuals use names other than their legal name for a variety of personal or cultural reasons. The college supports the choice for students, faculty, and staff to identify themselves with a chosen name rather than a legal name.

Northwood Tech provides all-gender restrooms that are open to all students, employees, and visitors, regardless of gender identity or expression. These restrooms are located:
- Ashland Campus

- Room R003, next to the College Health Nurse Office

Emergency Assistance
We understand that things happen, and we want to help you be successful as you navigate any unforeseen barriers or challenges. You may qualify for an emergency loan or grant to help you with finances. For more information, please connect with the Student Success Coordinator or the Counseling Services Office.
