    • Title: The 3 D’s: Delirium, Depression, & Dementia
    • Presenter: Kimberly McDonald, MSW, LCSW, CPG, Gerontology Program Instructor, Northwood Technical College
    • Objectives:
      • Differentiate between the spectrum of aging services.
      • Explore and compare delirium, depression, and dementia.
      • Examine assessment and screening of cognitive changes
  • Session Two
    • Title: Claude Monet’s Cataracts
    • Presenter: Gary S. Schwartz, MD, MHA, President, Associated Eye Care
    • Objectives:
      • Analyze changes in Monet’s art over the years to see how cataracts affected his vision.
      • Examine letters between Monet and his surgeon to see the importance of communication in the doctor patient relationship.
      • Compare differences between how cataract surgery is performed today compared to 100 years ago.
  • Session Three
    • Title: Aging Successful with Occupational Therapy
    • Presenter: Kristin Roll, OTR/L, OTA Instructor, Northwood Technical College; and Anna Polzin, COTA/L, OTA Fieldwork Coordinator and OTA Instructor, Northwood Technical College
    • Objectives:
      • Learn what occupational therapy is and the role of an occupational therapist and occupational therapy assistant on a healthcare team.
      • Understand what clients are appropriate for an occupational therapy referral and how to communicate the need for a referral to a primary care physician.
      • Identify three common interventions that occupational therapists use with the aging population.
  • Session Four
    • Title: Nutrition and Older Adults; a Complicated Journey
    • Presenter: Pam VanKampen, RDN, CD, Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR)
    • Objectives:
      • Understand that older adults have different nutrition needs than other age groups.
      • Be more aware of the multiple factors that can contribute to nutrition risk/malnutrition in older adults.
      • Utilize resources that can help older adults “Take a NOURISH Step”.
