The Construction Training Programs provide a clear path for entry and advancement in the construction field. The Construction Foundations Certificate covers essential skills like framing, drafting, and safety for entry-level jobs. The Construction Essentials Diploma builds on these core skills, while the Advanced Construction Essentials Certificate offers hands-on training in advanced framing and installation techniques. The Construction Foundations certificate will provide students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for entry level job success in the construction field. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of construction framing and drafting along with print reading and math applications related to construction. Safety principles and the use of hand and power tools will be covered.

The Advanced Construction Essentials certificate will provide students with advanced training built upon skills acquired from the Construction Essentials or Construction Foundations programs offered at Northwood Tech. Students will learn advanced framing of roofs, stairs, along with construction and installation of doors, windows and exterior finish materials, such as siding and roofing, in a hands-on skilled based learning environment.
